A native of the Bay Area, Kristin discovered Pilates as an undergraduate at UC Berkeley. She immediately noticed the physical and mental benefits and has been practicing for over 10 years. After an ankle fracture during her time as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine, she did months of physical therapy that included Pilates and felt firsthand the rehabilitative benefits. She had always had a strong interest in holistic health, nutrition, and fitness and decided to pursue a career in teaching Pilates. She completed The Pad Studios Teacher Training Program in 2014 and obtained a second comprehensive certification through BASI Pilates in 2017.
Kristin believes that Pilates can do wonders for people of all ages and fitness levels, whether the goal is to get strong and flexible, find an athletic edge, feel balanced and centered, de-stress, rehabilitate or prevent injury, or be more mindful in everyday life. She loves to share Pilates with others and help them achieve their best selves. When she is not teaching or practicing Pilates, Kristin can be found swimming, practicing yoga, hiking, reading, writing, studying languages, and traveling near and far. She recently started open water swimming and has completed the Alcatraz to SF swim twice.
